CHANGE

Remember, that you can't change others only yourself. Many times we love to point out what others need to do especially when it comes to our spouse.  The reality is, we only have power to change ourselves. 

OCTOBER ALREADY

Happy October, as time is passing us by please make sure you are enjoying every moment and making it count.  As we will never get back any of the past.  It's amazing how fast my kids are growing and my groom and I are maturing :-).  I could remember when I was a teenager I wanted so bad to hurry up and grow up, and my mom would always tell me to slow down I have plenty of time.  I can still hear her say enjoy being your age, because you will never get that time back.

"You Need to Dress Sexy"

After one of our family workouts, we happened to stop at a store grab a few things.  We happened to walk by a display of clothing, out of the blue my husband told me you need to wear something like this; and dress sexy.  

The dress he pointed to, I would never wear.  I didn't even respond because he caught me off guard, and I really didn't know what to say :-).  For one, he knows I'm very conservative with the way I dress.  I'm assuming he means when I'm with him, but when I thought about it, it's very rare that it's just he and I unless it's a date night, which we haven't had time for lately.

Help!  Does anyone have any suggestions that I can compromise a little on this?  I need to do a little investigation on how I can accomplish fulfilling his desire, yet adhere to my standards.  Hmmmm,,

Feeling Good...

Yesterday, as I was driving in the car to go make my weekly Sunday rounds for couponing, I caught a snip it of a radio program that had 3 doctors discussing men and women in regards to changes that causes different circumstances in relationships ex: menopause, impotence. Anyhow, I heard something that made me say Hmmm. Women have to feel good in order to have sex, Men have to have sex in order to feel good.... Of course the show took a long commercial break, and I wasn't able to continue listening. I've been thinking about this all day. It really explains a lot....But I just didn't think of it as being as simple as that statement....... If we really understood this statement could we avoid infidelity, and/or divorce??? Hmm

Family Time

For the last 2 months, we as a family have been making time to work out together.  Every weekend we load up the bikes, and head over to Stone Mountain park here in Georgia.  My groom and 2 boys ride their bikes around the park 3 times.  While my daughter and I walk around the park 1 time which is 5 miles.  At first I was dreading the whole idea, but it turned out to be motivating to see all the other people doing the same thing.  We all have lost plenty of inches and is more in shape.  Now we just have to get the eating under control.  I've been taking baby steps in our pantry makeover.  So far I've stopped all the soda pop, and junk foods.  Follow along over at mindingmydiet, as I walk through my journey of a healthy makeover.

Today I will make an effort to build a deeper connection with my Groom.  Sometimes, I disconnect or tune him out because he is determined to get his point across  Needless to say, and so am I.  Take time to read the article from a blog I follow... focusonthefamily.

ROUTINES

Routines will keep you organized, and aware of what to expect.  However sometimes, it's good to switch them up.  Be a little spontaneous and do something totally unexpected that you know your husband will like.  Many times we go all out for others, but we forget about the one who committed to love us forever.  Trust me he will do the same for you..

 Whatever you give attention too, you make important.  If you ever want to kill something in your life like distractions etc. ignore it.  We have to let go of distractions, people, habits that are not moving us toward our destiny.

What I received today and want to share with you is that GOD has forgiven our past like we asked him to.  It is time to move on in your life by forgiving all of your past regrets, resentments, and rejections. As we all know, we can’t change the past, however we can be mindful going forward with the future.  With GOD all things are possible; use your energy to make your future count!

ALL ABOUT ME IN MAY

For the remainder of the month of May, it's going to be all about me. As we approach Mother's Day, tomorrow, and I had a birthday last week, May is my month. As I reflect on the last 40 something years of my life, I need to make some changes. Today, I'm going to complete a need to do list, make a dream board, simply get organized. I had to post this, so I can be held accountable. I can't go another year putting off a dentist appointment. Also, I've become very complacent at my job, growth is necessary.  It's time for some real me time, I realize that I need to invest in some time for self improvement, physically and mentally. When you feel better about yourself, it will reflect better in all of your relationships.  Join me!  What are some changes you want to make? please comment!

CELL PHONES

An interesting conversation arose at work today. As I mentioned before, that I work with over 6 guys in a computer lab environment. One the guys showed me a picture on his cell phone, and made a point to tell me not to scroll forward or backwards. In which, I told him I wouldn't do that anyway! As a matter of fact I insisted that he continue to hold his phone while he showed me the photo. Of course my reaction was, why would you have to tell someone that, and he indicated that he let another female see a picture on his phone and she continued to look at more photos ending up seeing many photos that wasn't appropriate for her to see.

As I listen to other conversations around me.  I noticed that we have alot of work to do.  Why is it that people can always see what others are doing wrong, but never stop and notice some of what they're doing isn't so great either?  I've been told plenty of times that I always take or defend the other side, the truth is we do not know the situation or the circumstances of why people do the things they do.

Odd Moments to bond

Well to me odd, but my groom seem to think there is never an odd time to bond.  Well I don't know if it's mid life crisis or what, but my groom seem to be much daring these days.  I don't know if it's because I just shaved my legs, the orange polish on my toe nails, or the fact that I just been paying more attention to what he likes lately.   But, I have to remind him some time that we do have kids home in the next room! LOL

APPEARANCE

I heard a question the other day regarding if a women should adjust her appearance to please her husband. Well, this question was referring to minor adjustments not like surgery or anything. However, that would be a good question as well. Should you dress or wear your hair etc. the way your husband would like you too?

FOR GRANTED

The other day I was listening to the radio, and the radio personality had a life coach on as guest speaker. The topic happened to be taking your spouse for granted.

She listed possible signs: Not taking time to look nice for your spouse, like you do when you go to work or going out. Not taking the extra time to plan a special occasion, or buy gifts (excuse! Oh we've been together too long to do all that!). She indicated that her blackberry helped save her marriage. She uses it to stay organized, using the reminder feature to simple tell her husband that she loves him.

Surprise Date Night

Well, it's time for a  little spontaneity.  Lately, we've been having quick bonding moments, and I want to do something different.  Just a hint, I'm going shopping for a few props to change my appearance a little.  Just in case he's taking a glimpse of my blog, I'm saving details for later.  Still working out the plan.. Any suggestions?

Last Minute Lucy

Well, we're off on a little vaca, the kids are ready for a change of scenery.  We wanted a quick driving location, so we're off to the Smokey Mountains (3 1/2 hr drive).  Of course everyone else planned their vacation, and all of the hotels are booked up.  However I did find a location near the Wilderness, which my kids did not want to go to the indoor warterpark (whew, they saved me $300)!!  Anyhow, we're excited and going to make the best out of our mini last minitue vacation.  I'm going to do better planning our next vacation.

MY HUSBAND GETS ON MY NERVES

Sometimes my husband just gets on my nerves, and I'm sure I get on his. We both know that it's part of being in a relationship, well, we figured it out over the years. We're not always going to agree, simply because we are opposite.

You got another chance to celebrate today, many people didn't.
